Under our new ownership and management, Scottsdale Country Club’s 18-hole Championship Course is stepping into its next era with a new name: The Roadrunner. Same fairways that have welcomed generations of Scottsdale golfers since 1953. Same Lawrence Hughes bones, reshaped for the modern game by Arnold Palmer. Same island 4th hole and those two nervy water carries coming home at 16 and 17. Just a new name for a new chapter — one that fits a course built for speed around the greens and a quick pace of play, desert-bird quick.
Why “The Roadrunner”? Because it’s Scottsdale through and through — fast, a little cheeky, and impossible to mistake for anywhere else. It’s a name that respects where this course came from while giving it room to run into what’s next.
Here’s what isn’t changing: the tee sheet, the staff who know your name, and the golf that’s kept “The People’s Country Club” nickname earned for nearly 75 years.
